On 15 of January, the Embassy of Lithuania opened new visa applications centers in 9 major cities in China. Now, in adddition to visa centers already operating in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Jinan and Shenzhen, the travelers going to Lithuania can submit their Schengen visa applications at the visa centers in Xi’an, Chongqing, Changsha, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Nanjing and Kunming.
On 10 December the international community marks the anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This Declaration, which all UN members including China have agreed to uphold, states that each and every one of us has the right to freedom of thought, freedom of religion and belief, freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

On 10-28 May 2017 the State Small Theatre of Vilnius is going on a tour to China. Five cities, nine festive nights, two festivals presenting two plays of the State Small Theatre of Vilnius: The Mother (Vasa Zheleznova) and The Suicide. These are the works of young Lithuanian directors Gabrielė Tuminaitė and Kirilas Glušajevas, united back the great playwrights: Maxim Gorky and Nikolai Erdman. Their plays are about the eternal themes, values, and ideas. The Lithuanian directors G.Tuminaitė and K.Glušajevas will have a meeting and discussion with Chinese actors and directors in Shanghai.
Monday, 15 May, Bangkok, Thailand – President Dalia Grybauskaitė, on a working visit in Thailand, opened an exhibition of internationally known Lithuanian children’s book illustrators and invited everyone to visit Lithuania.
Sunday, 14 May, Bangkok, Thailand – President Dalia Grybauskaitė began her visit in Southeast Asia with meting Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand. This is a reciprocal visit and the second meeting of the President with the member of the royal family. In March of last year, Her Royal Highness came for an official visit to Lithuania. Before the meeting, the President honored the memory of the King Rama IX who passed away last year.
