On 18 October in Luxembourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the Foreign Affairs Council, which focused on the Eastern Partnership, the migration crisis caused by the Belarusian regime, the EU’s relations with the Gulf countries, the situation in the Western Balkans region, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and other foreign policy issues.

The Government of Lithuania continues to support third countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It has decided to provide humanitarian aid and donate 235, 900 doses of Vaxzevria (COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca) to Taiwan.

On 15 September, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Arnoldas Pranckevičius attended the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) Foreign Ministers' meeting in Helsinki, Finland. At the meeting, the NB8 Foreign Ministers discussed items on the international agenda important for our region, including the difficult situation in Afghanistan, the role of international organisations (e.g., the OSCE, the UN, the HRC) in strengthening international security, security challenges posed by climate change, measures to fight  the COVID-19 pandemic, and other relevant issues.

On 7 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Jakub Kulhánek, who was visiting Lithuania on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment and the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the Czech Republic.

On 3 September, during a discussion on the EU’s relations with China at an informal meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers (Gymnich), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis informed his counterparts about the recent political, diplomatic and public relations pressures at bilateral level from Beijing and came up with proposals regarding the formats for expanding the EU's ties with China, as well as the necessary instruments.

On 2 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis discussed the situation in Afghanistan at an informal meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers (Gymnich) in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana together with other foreign affairs ministers of the European Union and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. The meeting discussed tense security and political situation in Afghanistan, a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian and economic situation, as well as security and migration threats facing the whole region.

On 2-3 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will attend an informal meeting of EU foreign affairs ministers (Gymnich) in Ljubljana. The event is organised by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as Slovenia holds the Presidency from 1 July to 31 December 2021.

On 26 August, at a ceremony in Berlin, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Arnoldas Pranckevičius officially took over the Presidency of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) National Coordinators' Group from Michael Roth, Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office.
