Investment workshop attracted representatives from big China’s companies

The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania arranged the first of the series of workshops this year on the investments opportunities in Lithuania and development of trade and economic cooperation between China and Lithuania. Representatives of more than 30 Chinese companies (including Air China, North China Power Engineering, China Securities Co., LTD, The Export-Import Bank of China, CSR Engineering Co., LTD), with investment interests in Europe, attended the event. H.E. Mrs. Lina Antanavičienė, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in the People’s Republic of China, underlined that consistent ongoing cooperation with China‘s companies always deliver results if companies are patient and work purposefully. “The success doesn‘t come in one day. But when it comes, it lasts more than one day. This workshop is one more step in the long road to success“, the Ambassador said. At the workshop the representatives of the Central Bank of Lithuania, „Litexpo“ exhibition centre and law firm „Sorainen“ presented their views on the prospects of the economic cooperation between the two countries. Lithuania-China Business Council introduced benefits of its membership. The representative of the Central Bank of Lithuania overviewed the macroeconomic situation in Lithuania and moderated a discussion on the impact joining eurozone for doing business in Lithuania, while lawyers from „Sorainen“ underlined investment projects, which may attract China‘s entrepreneurs, and introduced an associated consulting company from Singapore. At the event China‘s companies expressed their strong interest in cooperating with Lithuania. Some of the companies have already invested in Lithuania while others have plans to expand their business and use Lithuania as a platform for further expansion into European markets.
