King Mindaugas' Coronation Day celebration with two Lithuanian theatres
Mindaugas‘ Coronation Day in Peking was enlighted by a visit of two well-known Lithuanian theatres: National Drama Theatre and Vilnius Small Theatre.
Lithuanian National Drama Theatre is not a novice on a Chinese stage. Earlier this year the theatre performed in Tianjin and Harbin. Chinese audience already had an opportunity to acquaint with the director with his previous works – „Hamlet“ and „Romeo and Juliet“. „Cathedral“ will be performed on July 8, 9 and 10 in Beijing People's Art Theatre.
State Small Theatre of Vilnius is a guest performer at the Beijing International Nanluoguxiang Theatre Festival, bringing three plays for the Chinese audience. “Three Sisters” and „Madagascar“, both directed by Rimas Tuminas, will be staged on July 8, 9, 10 and 12, 13 ir 14 respectively. On July 13, a lecture by R. Tuminas will be held, followed by the last performances on July 15, 16 and 17 of „Uncles and Aunts“ (director: Gabriele Tuminaite).
