Lithuanian film premiere at the 28th European Film Festival in Myanmar
The 28th European Film Festival will be officially opened on 20 September 2019 in Myanmar, Yangon (Rangoon), with Lithuania‘s participation for the first time. Twenty-one films from the EU and its neighbors (Israel, Norway, Switzerland) will be screened at a ten-day-long film festival in Myanmar's two cities, Yangon and Mandalay. Lithuanian film premiere at the Yangon Festival will mark by the legendary epic drama of the Lithuanian director Donatas Ulvydas “Fireheart. The Legend of Tadas Blinda". The film will be screened firstly on 23 September and will be repeated on 29 September.
In the cinema theaters of the main partners of the festival, Nay Pyi Taw Cinema and Goethe Institute in Myanmar, there will be possible to see European films, documentaries, and cartoons of various genres.
The European Film Festival in the country is organized by the EU Delegation to Myanmar together with the Embassies of the EU countries accredited in Myanmar, as well as with the Goethe Institute and the French Institute. The festival has a long tradition and was first held in this country 30 years ago.
