Lithuanian Schengen visa center opens in Beijing

The Lithuanian Embassy extended the collection of visa applications and delivery process in Beijing through its Schengen Visa Application Center (VAC) operated by VFS Global, the international outsourcing and technology services provider working with diplomatic missions and governments worldwide. The application center, located in the Chaoyang district in Beijing, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, 11 of November. Diplomats, journalists, business community, Chinese and VFS officials attended the opening ceremony.

“The opening of the Lithuanian visa center reflects the progressively growing relations between Lithuania and China” noted Ambassador of Lithuania Ms Ina Marčiulionytė at the opening ceremony, “people to people contacts are fundamental in enhancing cooperation between our countries and strengthening our economic, political and cultural ties and in this context visa processing procedures must be as applicant-friendly as possible. VFS Global is known for its professionalism and we are very pleased to rely on their assistance in collecting the applications for Lithuanian Schengen visas in Beijing”.

The facilities of the Visa Application Centre will upgrade the quality of visa application process, including a dedicated website for the easy access of visa information. The new Lithuanian Visa Application Center will be collecting the visa applications daily from Monday to Friday (except official Lithuanian holidays) and the center will also collect the biometric data, mandatory for applying for a Schengen Visa in the People’s Republic of China since 12 of October 2015.
